Race against Drugs Walkathon was organized by Akal Academy Raipur Peer Baksh Wala on 14 November 2018. The main gate for starting the rally was arranged in front of Yes Bank, Bhadas chowk Begowal. 170 persons participated in the rally including students, staff, parents and guests. The rally was flagged off by S. Rashpal Singh Bachajiwi (General Secretary Punjab Congress), S.H.O. Sukhpal Singh, Mr. Joginder Singh MC Begowal,Yes Bank Branch Manager Mr. Parminder Singh, Pardhan Youth Club Begowal Happy Singh were also present . Mr. Joginder Singh MC begowal Addressed the Students, he said that Punjab is facing a grave problem of drugs addiction. He said that the Punjab is the land of five rivers but now the sixth river of drugs is flowing, in which our youth is drowning. He also mentioned that Akal Academy is an institution which is helping the society in keeping the youth away from this curse. The SHO Begowal Mr. Sukhpal Singh appreciated the effort of the Akal Academy of spreading awareness in the society against Drugs Addiction. The Branch Manager of Yes Bank Mr. Parminder Singh said that he is very happy for the initiative taken by Akal Academy. The Principal Mrs. Kulwinder Kaur thanked all the invitees and the parents for extending their support. She said that the Kalgidhar trust Baru Sahib is running two drugs de addiction centers one at Baru Sahib and the second one at cheema Sahib.
