‘Nagar Kirtan is a Punjabi word which literally means “Neighbourhood Kirtan”. The word “Nagar” means “town or neighbourhood,” and “Kirtan” is a term describing the singing of (divine hymns). The concept of Nagar Kirtan is to bring the message of God to the doorstep of the community.
Nagar Kirtan of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is celebrated in AA Bilga with great pomp and show. On 20-11-2018 Nagar Kirtan was organized by crossing different villages Bilga, Mowai, Sangatpur, Partabpura, Motipur Khalsa, Mao Sahib, Powadra. Everyone pays respect to the Sacred Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by bowing their heads and are presented with by the sevadars. The Panj Piare lead the procession of the Nagar Kirtan. The colour Orange is in honour of the Khalsa Panth, as the Panj Pyaras are robed in Orange. Out of respect there are a multitude of sewadars who selflessly clean the roads before the Panj Pyaras and the Guru Granth Sahib is transported. It may be noticed that many in the procession may not wearing any shoes, irrespective of weather conditions – this is due to the respect they show to their holy Scripture, the sacred Guru Granth Sahib Ji. People welcomed the procession whole heartedly. The Sangat walked behind Guru Ji and the Panj Piaare singing shabads and enjoying the glorious day. Students recited Shabad , Poems, Dhadi waran and Kavishri. Sangat of different villages did seva whole heartily by distributing Parshad and Langar.

Parkash Purav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is celebrated in AA Bilga with great devotion. After Bhog of 32 Sehaj paths students recited Shabad , Poems, Dhadi waran,Kavishri and religious group songs. The tiny tots of Nursery recited Mool Manter and KG class students spoke names of Panj Piyara’s, Chaar Sahibzade and names of Ten Guru Sahiban. Sewadar S.Angreg Singh Ji was also present there. Siropas were also given to the drivers. Principal Harpreet Kaur also congratulated one and all on this special day. She also motivated other.
