Akal Academy Fatehgarh Chhanna Workshop in English, Maths, Science (12th July to 13th July 2019) Workshops in English, Maths and Science subjects were organised at AAFC for two days. The workshops were conducted in two groups i.e 1st to 5th and 6th to 8th separately. 170 teachers from 28 academies attended the workshops.
Resource persons from different publishers interacted with the teachers and acquainted them with the new teaching skills. Mrs. Homi Astavama conducted the English workshop for 6th to 8th grades. She was appointed by Collin publishers and Mrs. Chetan Bansal from Cambridge publishers conducted the English workshops for 1st to 5th standards. They taught new teaching methodologies to involve the students actively.
They involved the teachers in many activities like waste paper activity and made many different things with the newspaper. They also guided the teachers on how to improve the four skills i.e LSRW, of its students. They also emphasized the importance of grammar like noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb, and tenses, etc.
Maths workshop for 1st to 5th grade was conducted by Dr. Pallavi Kaul from Oxford University Press. The resource person told the teachers many new activities on different topics just to create the interest of students. She discussed many new concepts about Even and Odd factors, Pattern of shapes, Place value, etc. A science workshop was conducted by Mrs. Archana Thakur from Frank Experience Science.
She observed the demos of various teachers and suggested many new creative activities like airplane making, paper crafting, compare and contrast, bull’s eye, etc to make the topic interesting Science workshop for 6th to 8th standards was conducted by S. Manmohan Singh Malwa as resource person. He discussed various topics of science and emphasized the role of activities in teaching science.
The aim of the workshops is to share its experience of teachers and to adopt new and latest methodologies to make teaching interesting for the students. The new teachers learned a lot from the experienced and in this way, it was very much enjoying for all.
Honorable Principal Mam Mrs. Ravinder Kaur welcomed the resource persons, principals and participating teachers to AAFC and asked them to themselves the maximum of the workshop. Participants were provided with lunch for two days. In the end, honorable Principal thanked the Resource persons, Principals and all the participating teachers for the success of the workshop.
