Mock Parliament activity was held on 9 August 2019 in the “ Multipurpose Hall” under the supervision of the SST HOD Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur. The students of class IX and X participated in it. Ms. Palvi Kapoor from SST department also assisted to conduct the activity. The activity was to pass the bill in Lok Sabha which emphasized on “ Importance of Co-curricular activities in schools’. The session of activity started with the national anthem. After that, there was an oath ceremony by the newly elected members of parliament. The students were divided into two groups i.e. ruling and the opposition party. Japleen Singh from X class played the role of Prime minister and addressed the Lok sabha members, Simranpreet Kaur from X class acted as an HRD minister and introduced the bill to the members. The leader of the opposition party Navkirat Kaur from X class gave antagonistic views. The opposition members gave their views against the issue. Afterward, the HRD minister satisfied the counter fellow members by giving strong points. In the end, there was a vote casting session and the bill was passed with the 2/3 majority. Finally, the Principal Ms. Harpreet Kaur Sahni addressed the students. She appreciated and motivated the students and encouraged them to conduct such activities.
