Mock Parliament activity was held on 9 August 2019 in the “ Language lab ”at Akal Academy Seona under the supervision of the SST HOD Mrs. Baljeet Kaur. The students of class IX and X participated in it. Ms. Azeen Khan and Mrs. Amandeep Kaur from SST department also assisted to conduct the activity.
The activity was to pass the bill in Lok Sabha which emphasized on “ Importance of Co-curricular activities in schools’. The students were divided into two groups i.e. ruling and the opposition party. Anmol Singh from X class played the role of Prime minister and addressed the Lok sabha members, Harsukman Kaur from X class acted as an HRD minister and introduced the bill to the members.
The leader of the opposition party Jasmeen Kaur from X class gave antagonistic views. The opposition members gave their views against the issue. Afterward, the HRD minister satisfied the counter fellow members by giving strong points. In the end, there was a vote casting session and the bill was passed with the 2/3 majority.
Finally, the Principal Ms. Sumeet Kaur addressed the students. She appreciated and motivated the students and encouraged them to conduct such activities.
