Akal Academy 10 Z celebrated Gurupurab cum Annual function on 21.11.21 with great enthusiasm and fervour.The programme began with Bhog of Sri Sehaj Path recited by staff members. Students of Class IX recited Shlok Mahala 9. It was followed by Shabad Kirtan recited by Jaskirat Kaur and Ashmanpreet from class VI, Prakash Kaur from class VII, Japsimran and Ashmeen Kaur from class VIII and Gurleen Kaur and Ramneek Kaur from class IX and Armandeep and Darshpreet Kaur class X. Shabad Kirtan was fllowed by poem recitation by Gurjas Singh class IV, Sukmanpreet Kaur Class V, Jaskirat Kaur VI, Sanehdeep class VII, Kabir Dhunna class IX. The Bhog culminated with Ardaas and Hukumnama Sahib by Jasmeen Kaur and Amandeep Singh.
The stage programme began with a welcome speech by Navneet Kaur(VIII) on the philosophy of Shri Guru Nanak Devji and the mission of the Akal Academies. This was followed by stage programmes by students of different classes. Students presented choreographies on religious songs relatd to Guru Nanak Devji (Nur, Kg, III, VI). Students of class I and II presented an action poem in Hindi tilted “Shahar ka Baccha, Gaon Ka Baccha” stressing on the difference in the lives and environment of the two places. Students of class IV presented choreography in English titled “We are the Children, We are the World.” A small skit on the importance of Sikh Greetings “Fateh- The Khalsa Salutation” was enacted by students of V, VII and IX. Class VI- IX students presented another Skit titled “Billu” based on the impoverishment of the peasants. Class V students presented a medley on patriotic songs, paying attribute to our freedom fighters and armed forces. Class VIII students enacted a skit- Naam Japo, Kirat Karo and Vand Shako in Engish. The students presented a great show of Gatka in the end.
The programme was attended by the committee members of Lions Club “Vishwas” Sriganganagar and large number of parents. Cluster head Mrs. Neena Sharma and Sewadar Veerji Atamdev Singh and his keep graced the occasion by their kind presence. The toppers of class X BATCH 2020 were honoured for their achievement in the board exams. In the end the Principal, thanked the distinguished guests, members of the management, parents and special guests for gracing the occasion. The event was compered by Gurleen Kaur (IX) and Jaskirat Singh (VIII).
A small exhibition showcasing the disappearing elements of Punjabi Culture and models from different subjects and creativity of the students was also organised. After, the programme the students and staff served langar to the visitors and parents.
