“Learning a language is the foremost step in the life of a child as it helps him/her to communicate with the world and a school plays a vital role to train the child in this direction.”
A Public Speaking Competition was held in the premises of Akal Academy Sujanpur on dated 20 August 2022. The aim of the competition was to hone public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The speakers of grades VI to X spoke eloquently on the different topics.
The competition was worth-enjoying for the audience. Every speaker was cheered and clapped up for their pleasing presentation and sharp arguments.
SPELL BEE COMPETITION
“Spelling bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty.”
A ‘Spelling Bee’ competition was also organised for Grade Ist to Vth in their respective classes.
The Spell Bee Competition aimed at creating awareness of the possibilities of using varied words in oral and written expression and to add words to the active vocabulary of students. The competition was organised for classes I to V and it comprised dictation, choose correct spelling and frame sentences. A thorough orientation was done by the English teachers before the event in the format of the competition.
The objective of the competition was to enhance the spelling and literary skills of children by encouraging them to explore the English language, expand their vocabulary and improve their communication and comprehension skills. This helps students to improve spelling, vocabulary, learning concepts and pronunciation.
Teachers facilitated the smooth organization and execution of the event. Summing up, the competition helped the children to familiarize with the spellings and usage of many unfamiliar words.
