“On 23 April 2022, deliberating the holy day of Vaisakhi and Khalsa Sajna Diwas a Poem Recitation and Turban Competitions were organized at Akal Academy Khera. The competitions were commenced at 11:00 am and were accomplished at 12:00 noon. In Turban Competition the students of grade III to grade VIIIB and in Poem Recitation the students of grade KG to grade VIIIB participated passionately and keenly. The students were allotted 20 minutes for tying a Turban. All the students tied very beautiful turbans within the time limits. Similarly in Poem Recitation Competition all the students recited very good poems in a very enjoyable manner.

The main purpose of these competitions is to motivate the students to take care of their hair as these are ‘Stamp of Guru’ and the importance of turban. Through these competitions the students gain a great knowledge about Sikhism and a lot of love and respect for Sikhism is inculcated in them.
