Learning a language is the foremost step in the life of a child as it helps him/her to communicate with the world and a school plays a vital role to train the child in this direction. In the time and age of auto-correct, predictive text and spell check, the Spell- Bee competition for Grades I-V students held at Akal Academy Khera came as a whiff of fresh breeze. The Inter house Spell- Bee competition for Grades I-V students was organized by the Department of English, in the school activity room on 20th August, 2022.The students participated with great enthusiasm and duelled through the toughest words to prove their mettle.
This competition was one of the numerous enjoyable competitions that give students a platform to learn spellings in different ways. This competition helps students improve their spellings, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop the use of correct English.
There were two groups i.e., Group Junior and Group Senior. Group Junior dealt with the Grades I-II whereas Group Senior consist of Grades III- V. Each team consists of six participants. The competition consists of four rounds:
- Round I: Power Spell
- Round II: Jumbled Words
- Round III: Clue round
- Round IV: Who is this Buzzer?
The teachers facilitated the smooth organization and execution of the event.
Ms. Amandeep Kaur Bariah and Ms. Prabhjot Kaur judged the Group Junior. In this Group Abhai House bagged the first position while Atul House stood at the second position.
On the other hand, Ms. Rajinder Kaur and Ms. Mandeep Kaur were the judges of Group Senior. Here, The Atul House was declared winner and the Abhai House scored the second position.
