The 553rd birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with great exuberance, devotion and reverence in Akal Academy Khichipur, 129th branch of Baru Sahib (The Kalgidhar Trust). A special religious program was conducted by students to mark the occasion. The students presented variety of religious poems, kavishri, shabads and act by spreading the divine message of harmony, humility and equality of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Comparing was done by students of 7th and 8th classes. The program was commenced with a shabad and ended with Gatka. Students also recited Gurbani and the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji were shared with the sangat. The children were urged to follow the path of universal brotherhood and peace to promote national integration and communal harmony. Principal Mrs. Sunita Kapil talked about baptism and four bajar kurehta in her speech. Siropaos were given to the special guests and facilitators. In the end everybody had guru ka langar.
