Baisakhi Celebration
Baisakhi pronounced Baisakhi, marks the first day of the month of Baisakh and is traditionally
celebrated annually on April 13.It is celebrated as spring harvest primarily in Northern India.
Whilst it is culturally significant as a festival of harvest, some also consider Baisakhi to be the
legitimate date for the Indian Solar New Year. Akal Academy chak Desraj realizing its
importance for the people of Punjab celebrated this function in the school. students performed
different activities related with the festival. Poem recitation, kavishries and speeches based on
khalsa foundation were delivered .'Dastar Bandi' competition was also held. Principal madam
appreciated the efforts of teachers and students for making the programme a success.
