Akal Academy Mander Dona Hosts Mock Parliament Session on NEP
Mander Dona, August 28 – Akal Academy Mander Dona organized a mock Parliament session for its senior grade students, providing a unique platform for them to discuss and debate the New Education Policy (NEP). The event, held on August 28, was a resounding success, with students showcasing their knowledge and understanding of the policy.
The hall was transformed into a Parliament setting, complete with designated seats for various ministers, including the Prime Minister, Education Minister, Social Welfare Minister, Cultural Minister, and representatives from the ruling and opposition parties. Students assumed these roles and engaged in a lively debate, presenting their arguments and counter-arguments on the NEP.
The event was organized and conducted by Activity Incharge Baljeet Singh, with support from social science teachers Ms. Seema Popli and Ms. Pooja. “The mock Parliament session was an excellent opportunity for our students to learn about the democratic process and the functioning of Parliament,” said Baljeet Singh, Activity Incharge.
The session concluded with a vote on the proposed motions, reflecting the students’ grasp of the topic. The event was a testament to the school’s commitment to providing a holistic education and fostering critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills among its students.
