Report on celebration of Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji at Akal Academy Mehal Kalan
Akal Academy Mehal Kalan celebrated Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Parkash Utsav with great enthusiasm. The Samagam was commenced with Bhog of Shri Sehaj Path, followed by ‘shabad kirtan’ ‘Sat Guru Nanak Pargatiya. All the parents listened to the children’s Gurbani Kirtan with respect and admiration.
After the departure of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji religious programs depicting (Sakhi on Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji and Bhagat Namdev ji ) was performed .Poems, and speeches were also the special features of the celebration. The event of attraction ( A Quiz having 5 rounds on Sikh History, Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Life, Khalsaya Bole and Shastra recognition) was held up. The parents and students were found attentive listeners during this quiz. The Students explained the life history of Guru Nanak Dev Ji . A large number of parents arrived and encouraged the children and all the staff. At Last Gatka team represented their wonderful performance.
The exhibition of working models of Science, Maths and Social Science and Arts and Craft was also organised. The exhibition of Art and craft was also organised. All the parents appreciated the students for their representations in the exhibition.
A message on the Mission of Kalgidhar Trust, Teachings of Baba ji , difference of Akal Academies from other schools and need of the getting Education from Akal Academies was conveyed to the parents by Mrs Balwinder Kaur Cheema, (Principal A.A .Mehal Kalan) . She also thanked all the parents for their support.
Guru ka langar was served to all through whole the day. The parents also contributed to the Guru Ka Langar.
Overall the gurupurab was celebrated with great pride, honour and respect with the support of all Staff members, students and parents.
