Report on International Womens Day Celebrations at Akal Academy Tibber
On March 8, 2025, Akal Academy Tibber celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm
and reverence. The event was marked by speeches, cultural performances, and special gestures from
the male staff, all in alignment with the values of Sikhism, which emphasizes gender equality and
respect for women.
Celebration Highlights
1. Special Assembly and Speech on Women’s Empowerment
The day began with a special assembly, where students and teachers gathered to acknowledge the
contributions of women in various fields. A thought-provoking speech was delivered by Ms. Ranjit Kaur
emphasizing the role of women in society and the importance of gender equality.
2. Treat by Male Staff
As a token of appreciation, the male staff arranged a special treat for the female teachers and staff
members. This thoughtful gesture symbolized respect and appreciation for women.
3. Cultural and Religious Events
Students performed shabad from Guru Granth Sahib that emphasize equality and respect for women.
Short narrations showcasing the contributions of Sikh women in history, including the bravery of Mata
Gujri Ji, Bibi Harsharan Kaur Ji, Bibi bhani ji and Mata Bhag kaur Ji. It was narrated by Ms. Kamaljeet
Kaur, Ms. Harmeet Kaur, Ms. Rajwinder Kaur and Ms. Parvinder Kaur

4. Wellness and meditation session
Women often prioritize taking care of others over themselves, which can lead to burnout and
exhaustion. Taking time for self-care, whether its through yoga, meditation, or other wellness practices,
is crucial for maintaining mental, emotional, and physical health. Keeping this in mind meditation
session was organised for the female staff.
