Dastar Competition Held on the Occasion of Vaisakhi at Akal Academy Fatehgarh Ganduan
On the auspicious occasion of Vaisakhi, a Dastar (Turban) Tying Competition was organized at Akal Academy Fatehgarh Ganduan, under the guidance of Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib. The event aimed to promote the significance of the Sikh identity and instill pride in the tradition of wearing a dastar among the students.
Students from various houses actively participated in the competition, showcasing their skills and respect for Sikh values. The winners were:
Jagwinder Singh (Grade 10, Atul House) – 1st Position
Pushpinder Singh (Grade 10, Atul House) – 2nd Position
Maninder Singh (Grade 9B, Amul House) – 3rd Position
The winners were awarded by Principal Madam, who also addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of the dastar as a symbol of Sikh pride, discipline, and spiritual identity.
The event was a great success, reflecting the students’ enthusiasm and commitment to their cultural and spiritual heritage.
