“Thousands of Gatka students of Akal Academy Theh Kalandar, a branch of Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib, and their families recited Chaupai Sahib dedicated to the holy day of Baisakhi.The Principal of the Academy, Mrs. Gurjit Kaur Sidhu, honored these students by giving cash prizes in the morning prayer meeting, out of which Sukhmani Kaur of Class IX (8074); Prabhjot Kaur of Class IX (8060); Joban Preet Singh of Class VIII (7200) for reciting Chaupai Sahib.The first, second and third positions were secured and the family of Hari Gun Singh, class IX, achieved 4048; the family of Antriv Kaur, class X, achieved 2350 and the family of Joban Singh, class IX, achieved 1825 Chaupai Sahib, achieving first, second and third positions.Principal Sahiba praised the academy’s Gatka coach Sardar Karmapal Singh for motivating these children to recite. Principal Sahiba said that the students of Akal Academy are not only excelling in the academic field, but also teaching these children Gurbani.The students studying at the academy are laying the foundation for their bright future.”
