A special program dedicated to ‘Birth of Khalsa’ Day organized at Akal Academy
A special program was organized on the occasion of Vaisakhi, the ‘birthday of Khalsa’, at Kal Academy Theh Kalandar, a branch of Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib. This program was organized by the in-charge of Punjabi and Gurmat Department, Mrs. Talwinder Kaur and Virpal Kaur, under the leadership of the Principal of Akal Academy, Mrs. Gurjit Kaur Sidhu. After the daily prayers, the children sang Shabad Kirtan, Kavisharis and religious poems during the prayer meeting. After this, children’s hair care, painting, slogan writing, beautiful writing, cooking without fire, beautiful turban decoration competitions were organized for boys and Phulkari embroidery competition for girls, etc. In which Udayvir Singh, Jessica and Harvir (Jamaat V) Robin, Safal and Gurleen Kaur (Jamaat VI) Gurjot Kaur, Seerat Kaur, Sukhmani Kaur (Jamaat VIII) Veerpal Kaur, Preneet Kaur, Satkar Kaur (Jamaat IX A) Gurmannat Kaur, Roshni (Jamaat IX B) In the Food Without Fire competition, Smoothie-Chandni (First Place) Chocolate Ball-Harleen Kaur, Manpreet Kaur (First and Second Place) Snacks- Ekamdeep Kaur, Navjot Kaur (First and Second Place) Gurfateh Singh, Snehdeep Singh, Abhijot Singh (Jamaat IX) Ashrit Kumar, Harkaranpal Singh, Gurtaj Singh (Jamaat 10th) Abhijit Singh, Ekamdeep Singh, Gurshan Singh students secured first, second and third positions. Principal Sahiba said during the conversation that the children participated in this competition with great enthusiasm. She said that the tenth Guru, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, had created the Khalsa Panth on this day and colored the Sikh community in spiritual colors. Today, it is necessary that we also follow the path shown by the Gurus and obtain the gift of Amrit and mold our lives according to Gurmat.
