On 12th April, Akal Academy Sujanpur joyfully celebrated Khalsa Sajna Diwas, a day that
holds deep spiritual and historical significance in Sikhism.
The program commenced with a short yet heartfelt speech by Pritpal Kaur, who warmly
welcomed everyone and introduced the essence of the day's celebration. The event began with an
enlightening speech by Gagandeep from Grade 12, who reflected upon the relevance of Khalsa
Panth in modern times and inspired the audience with thoughts of bravery and unity.
Following this, students of Class 7A,7C,5A and 6B respectively presented melodious
shabads that created a serene spiritual environment. Poems were also sung by Students of 5C
which depicted the origin of the Khalsa with powerful imagery and emotion.
A meaningful and well-articulated English speech on Khalsa Sajna Diwas was delivered by
Chahatpreet Kaur of Class 9A, The senior-most students, from Class +2, concluded the series of
presentations with the shabad “ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ”, which echoed with spiritual depth and
reverence.
One of the most engaging segments of the event was the Dastarbandi Competition, where
students enthusiastically showcased their turban-tying skills, celebrating the pride and honor of
Sikh identity. Navneet Singh of Class 9B secured the first position, followed by Sukhman Singh of
Class 8B in second place and Sehajnoor Singh of Class 10B in third.
The event concluded with the collective recitation of Ardass, invoking blessings for all. This
was followed by the distribution of Karah Prasad, and a warm mini langar of bread-pakodas served
to everyone present, adding a sense of community and joy to the spiritual atmosphere.
