Experiential learning
Goal: to increase knowledge, develop skills, clarify values and develop their capacity to contribute to their communities.
Experiential learning also known as learn from experiences, is the application of theory and academic content to real-world experiences, either within the classroom, within the community, or within the workplace, which advances program or course-based learning outcomes. Experiential learning requires the student to not only engage in the experience activity, but also requires them to reflect upon their learning and how their skills learned through their academic studies can be applied beyond the classroom. Hands-on learning is a form of experiential learning. Here at IB authorized World School, Baru Sahib, we believe in learning by doing according to IB Philosophy. So outdoor study programs, visits to power stations/water plants/ solar kitchen/ waste management centers/ hospitals, flipped classrooms etc. help students to enhance experiential learning. Some of those activities are displayed here.
