DIWALI CELEBRATION

The celebration of Diwali ,’The festival of lights’ came alive at Akal Academy Bilga on the 22nd of October. After Nitname the melodious shabad ‘Diwali Ki Raat Dive Baleye…….. ‘ brought out the essence of the festival. Different types of competitions were conducted by different classes. Madam Sarbjit Kaur and Inderjit Kaur delivered the speech in the end telling about historical background of Diwali. They told the students that It is time to celebrate pollution free this Diwali. Pollution-free crackers are also available, though very expensive. They also suggested to burn these crackers in small quantities just for the spirit of Diwali. Instead of spending on firecrackers, the same money could be used to make some capital investment at home, or buy a book and new clothes for needy people. They urged the students not to play with fireworks on this festival. She also wished that the whole of India might be healthier and more prosperous. They also Congratulated one and all on the auspicious occasion by giving away the message of a clean, peaceful , pollution free and a bright Diwali. Then the programme ended with this noble gesture.

Different competitions were conducted in school to celebrate Diwali. Tiny tots of nursery to ist decorate the classes with the help of teachers. Classes 2nd to 4th participated in poster making competition and students of grade 5th & 6th participated in Diya decoration competition. There was a competition among senior students. It was Rangoli competition. Students of X,XI & XII Class made different types of Rangoli using different materials. 7th class participated in Best out of waste competition. 8th and 9th participated in Drawing Competition. A Special Activity was conducted by Activity In-charge, a for self analysis. Students write their bad habits on paper and throw in dustbin. Winners of competitions were awarded with certificates. Judges  congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts made by students as well as class in-charges.
