A Walkathon Race Against Drugs was organised by the Akal Academy Bilga to create awareness among public against the deadly evil of drugs which have been paralyzing our youth and Nation. The WALKATHON was kicked off by the Chief guest DR. Duggal by waving the flag at 11 o’clock .He was also accompanied by Principal along with staff members ,PTA Member S. Ranjodh Singh and press reporters .The senior students from class 7th and 8th participated in this event. The Walkathon started from Akal Academy Bilga covering two villages Powada and Talwan. The catchy slogans and inspiring banners were the centre of the attraction of the rally. The students showed their concern against the drug menace by raising their voice is in the form of slogan. The responses of the public, specially shopkeepers was really admirable .Many of them were raising their voices over the excessive use of alcohol in the elections. Finally the rally ended at village Talwan. Students also presented Nukkad Natak at Powadra and aware the public about the harms of drugs. Public applauded the ethical efforts made by the Akal Academy by declaring it “a right step in the right direction’. PTA members Balbir Singh ,Gurinder singh and parents served refreshment to all the participants at village Powadra and Talwan .In nutshell this Walkathon proved scene of responsibility and belongingness to the students,teachers and parents to fight against the evils of societies specially drugs. Academies always get these kinds of opportunities to convey message sound and clear to the society. The Walkathon ended at 2.30 pm at AA Bilga.
