Description:- Baisakhi Day was celebrated at Akal Academy Raipur Peerbux Wala with
great devotion and enthusiasm.In which first of all, children enjoyed Sahaj Path and
shabad kirtan done by students. Various classes presented poems reflecting the
importance of Punjab and filled the minds with Khalsai sentiments. Principal ma'am also
shared her views on the 'Importance of kakkars' in Sikh's life. Along with this Dastar
bandi competition was also organized. In which students from different schools
participated. The aim was to create love for turbans in the minds of students,respect was
to be instilled and they were to be made aware of the greatness of the turban.Sardar
Kesar Singh ji (Akal Academy Bholath) and Sardar Daljit Singh (Akal Academy Begowal)
played the role of chief judges in this competition. Students participated under three
groups in this competition. First group:- grades 6th,7th and 8th Second group:-grades
9th and 10th Third group:- grades 11th and 12th Students from different schools from
classes 6th to +2 secured positions. Principal ma'am Miss Sonu Sharma explained the
importance of turban to the students and Judge Sardar Kesar Singh also spoke on the
importance of turban and also gave some tips to tie turban to students. Akal Academy
students also showed their Gatka jewels. At the end of the whole Diwan, the children
recited the six pauries of Anand Sahib and after the ardas, Prasad was served.
