It was a red-letter day in the history of India when the country got her freedom on August 15, 1947. It took hundreds of years for us to break shackles of slavery. People of the country celebrate this festival every year with great pomp and show. The main Programme is celebrated at the Red Fort in New Delhi. Besides, this festival is also celebrated in every city and town, in school, college and university.
Our school also celebrates this festival every year. For this year, we had made all the preparations. The principal of the school had unfurled the national flag and everyone sang the national anthem. Later the activity in charge had preceded the program after Principal’s approval. Students had shown their scintillating efforts to commemorate the sacrifices of thousands of people to get freedom. They had prepared various patriotic items such as song, skit, choreography, group songs, speeches, etc.
At the end Principal had addressed the school to congratulate everyone on this 73rd independence of India. She told the whole story of freedom in a nutshell. She also guided students to be faithful towards their people and country and be a good citizen of the country and it’s the real motto to celebrate freedom. Students had enthusiastically pledged for the same. The function was of one and half hour and at the end, sweets were distributed to everyone.
