Akal Academy, Promotes Environmental Consciousness through Inauguration of Akal Botanical Garden
In a heartfelt tribute to the founder of The Kalgidhar Trust, Rev. Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, Akal Academy, Khamanon has setup and inaugurated the Akal Botanical Garden in Academy campus on 20th July 2024. This initiative reflects the Trust’s commitment to fostering a culture of environmental consciousness through various activities, including a Plantation Drive.
The garden features a diverse array of medicinal and fruiting plants, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection and contributing to the greater mission of humanity. Each plant is dedicated to a student of the academy, whose name and plant number will be displayed. These student guardians will be responsible for the care and upkeep of their assigned plants, fostering a personal connection to environmental stewardship.
To honor the students’ efforts, a Tree Certificate will be awarded during a special school function. This initiative, supported by the BKK Memorial Foundation, is inspired by Sri Guru Nanak’s mission of serving humanity and the importance of voluntary efforts in creating a sustainable future. As the adage goes, “Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen,” and Akal Academy, Khamanon’s simple idea has found resonance in the community, promoting a greener planet for future generations.
