Akal Academy , Holi Barara organized Religious Programme on
occasion of Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Harkrishan Sahib 29 July,
2024( Monday). The students recited shabad, kirtan and presented
informative speeches and inspiring poems related to Shri Guru
Harkrishan Sahib Ji.
Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji was the eighth of the ten Sikh Gurus. At the
age of 5, he became the youngest Guru in Sikhism on 7 October 1661,
succeeding his father, Guru Har Rai. He contracted smallpox in 1664
and died before reaching his eighth birthday. It is said that he died
because he contracted smallpox while successfully curing his followers.
He is also known as Bal Guru and sometimes spelled in Sikh literature
as Hari Krishan Sahib.
