On 30th August 2025, Akal Academy Khichipur solemnly observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, reaffirming its commitment to raising awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a drug-free lifestyle.
The event began with the screening of the short film “Chup 2”, which powerfully depicted how youth can easily fall into the trap of drug addiction. This was followed by a thought-provoking panel discussion led by Dr. (Col.) Rajinder Singh, along with other expert panelists. The discussion covered various aspects of drug abuse, including causes, prevention, consequences, and ways to support those battling addiction.
Students then watched a moving documentary film based on a real-life story that highlighted the struggles, downfall, and eventual recovery journey of a young drug addict. The film served as a strong reminder of the importance of awareness, education, and timely intervention.
At the end of the session, all students took a pledge to commit themselves to a drug-free, healthy, and responsible lifestyle.
Principal Mrs. Sunita Kapil and S. Jagdeep Singh delivered motivational messages, encouraging students to make wise choices and stay away from harmful substances. They emphasized the value of living a meaningful life rooted in discipline, health, and purpose.
The entire staff, students, and even school drivers actively participated in the event, making it a collective and impactful initiative. Akal Academy Khichipur continues to instill strong moral values and life skills among its students through such awareness programs.
