Akal Academy Raipur Peer Bakhsh Wala actively participated in the online awareness event
commemorating the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 30th July 2025.
The event was an initiative by Akal Drug De-Addiction Centres in collaboration with Akal College of
Health and Allied Sciences, Eternal University, Baru Sahib. It aimed at raising awareness about the
harmful effects of drug abuse, and promoting a drug-free and healthy lifestyle among the youth.
The program featured a panel discussion led by distinguished mental health professionals who spoke
on various aspects of drug addiction including its psychological impact, preventive strategies, and
recovery methods. The speakers emphasized the importance of early intervention, family support,
and community awareness in tackling substance abuse.
Students of Grades 6 to 12, along with staff members, attended the session with full attentiveness.
The session was both educational and motivational, opening up important conversations around the
topic of drug de-addiction.
Following the session, all students and staff took the Anti-Drug Pledge, which was delivered with a
strong sense of commitment and responsibility.
The pledge ceremony was recorded and documented as required. The initiative was carried out
under the supervision of Principal Ma’am Miss Sonu Sharma, who encouraged students to lead by
example and adopt a life free of harmful substances.
