555th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Celebrations at Akal Academy Mander Dona
Akal Academy Mander Dona, under the auspices of Kalidhar Trust, Baru Sahib, commemorated the 555th Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 19th November 2024 with great reverence and zeal. The occasion commenced with a ceremonial procession of the Prakash of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, followed by the Bhog Ardas of the 5 Sehaj Paaths, recited by the students and the Music & Divinity faculty.
The day’s proceedings were enriched with a series of sacred Shabad Kirtans, religious poems, and Kavishri performances, with students from all grades participating enthusiastically. A particularly poignant moment was the recitation of Japji Sahib Ji, which enveloped the atmosphere in peace and spiritual contemplation. The celebrations culminated with a soul-stirring Aarti, led by Baljeet Singh, Mehakpreet Kaur, and their group, further enhancing the devotional ambience.
The event was meticulously organised under the leadership of Principal Ms. Manjit Kaur Mahal, whose efforts ensured the occasion’s smooth execution. The stage was beautifully adorned by Art Teacher Mr. Baljeet Singh, and the event coordination was efficiently managed by Ms. Pooja. Langer arrangements were expertly handled by Mr. Ranbir Singh and Mandeep Kaur. The students’ performances were prepared under the guidance of Ms. Jaswinder Kaur (Music Teacher) and Mr. Baljeet Singh (Activity In-charge).
Distinguished guests graced the event, including Sewaadar of Sant Baba Leader Singh je from Safailabad gurudwaraMs. Harpreet Kaur Sahni (MCH Bilga), S. Ranbir Singh Mander, S. Kulwinder Singh Sarpanch Mander Dona,Sabka Sarpanch Paramjeet Singh from village Manana Sant Baba Sukha Singh Ji (Tahli Sahib), and S. Anjrej Singh Sewadar. Principal Ms. Manjit Kaur Mahal delivered an eloquent address, emphasising the timeless relevance of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings, particularly the values of unity, humility, and selfless service to humanity. Her reflections were complemented by remarks from Ms. Harpreet Kaur Sahni and donor S. Ranbir Singh Ji Mander Dona.
The event also featured a captivating Kavishri performance and a Gatka display by the Akal Academy Gatka Club, which left the audience thoroughly engrossed. The beautifully adorned pandal and the students dressed in traditional Kesari and Blue Dumalas created a vivid display of Sikh heritage and culture.
In a gesture of hospitality, tea, refreshments, and Langer were served to all parents and guests in attendance. Principal Ms. Manjit Kaur Mahal expressed her sincere gratitude to the staff and the Sadh Sangat for their dedicated seva, which made the celebration a memorable and spiritually enriching experience.
