Event : Drug Awareness Rally
Venue : Sujanpur
Akal Academy Sujanpur organized a Drug Awareness Rally. The event was aimed to educate students
and staff on the importance of mental well being and the dangers of drug abuse. The weeklong event was
inaugurated by Mrs. Rupinder Kaur, the Principal of our academy, who emphasized the significance of
mental health in students’ academics and personal lives. The objectives of the event were to:
Raise awareness about mental health and its importance.
Reduce stigma associated with mental illness.
Encourage open conversations about mental health.
Various events that took place during the week were :
1. Education of Staff & students :
Madam Vanshika, Nisha Bhagat, Anamika, Shivani & Purvi delivered an inspiring speech,
emphasizing the importance of mental well being and created awareness on Drug addiction.
2. Paragraph & Slogan writing competition :
A paragraph writing competition as well as a slogan writing competition on the topic “ SAVE
YOUTH, SAVE PUNJAB” was conducted in the school premises. Students from Grade VI – XII
participated in it with great enthusiasm. Jasmeet Kaur(XII), Anmoldeep Kaur(X-B) and
Ratnagar(VIII-A) WERE the winners of the paragraph writing competition, whileJaspreet Kaur
(VIII-A) Sahil Thapa(XII) and Vanshika(XI) were the winners of the slogan writing competition.
3. Nukkad natak :
A powerful theatrical performance by students of grade IX & X showcased the harmful effects of
drugs on individuals, families and the society.
4. Poster making & Free hand painting :
Students expressed their ideas, creativity and emotions by making free hand paintings & posters,
reflecting their understanding of the importance of protecting the youth from drug abuse. Posters
were displayed around the school premises & local community, highlighting and focusing the
importance of mental health. Meherjeet Kaur(VII-B), Twesha (VII-A) and Payal (VII-B) were the
winners of Poster Making.
