Akal Academy Ajitsar, Ratia organized a series of Inter-House Literary Competitions on 23rd August 2025 with the aim of enhancing students’ vocabulary, public speaking skills, and critical thinking abilities. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from all four houses – Ajay, Abhai, Amul, and Atul.
1. Spelling Bee Competition (Classes I – II)
The students of Classes I and II displayed commendable confidence in the Spelling Bee Competition. After three rounds of challenging words, Abhai House secured the 1st position with 14 points, followed by Atul House (2nd) with 10 points, and Amul House (3rd) with 9 points.
2. Spelling Bee Competition (Classes III – V)
In this category, the competition was intense with students spelling words accurately under pressure. Abhai House once again emerged as the winner with 15 points, while Ajay House and Atul House shared the 2nd position with 14 points each. Amul House stood 3rd with 12 points.
3. Public Speaking (Classes VI – VIII)
The Public Speaking Competition provided students with an opportunity to express their views on social issues such as Blood Donation, Respecting All Religions, Street Food Safety, and Exam Stress Management. The results were as follows:
• 1st Position – Ajay House (Ananya & Karampreet Kaur)
• 2nd Position – Atul House (Japnoor Kaur)
• 3rd Position – Amul House (Sukhman Kaur & Prabhjeet Kaur)
4. Extempore (Classes IX – XII)
The Extempore Competition tested the students’ spontaneous speaking abilities.
• 1st Position – Ajay House (Hussanmeet Kaur)
• 2nd Position – Ajay House (Navreet Kaur),Atul house (Gursimar Kaur)
• 3rd Position – Atul House (Pawanjot) ,Amul house (Bhumika),Abhai house (Jaspreet Kaur)
5. Group Discussion (Classes IX – XII)
A thought-provoking Group Discussion on the topic “India’s Contribution in Global Peace” was conducted. Students articulated their ideas with clarity and confidence. Gursimar Kaur from Atul House was adjudged the Best Speaker.
