73rd Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Akal Academy Basarke on 16 August 2019. A cultural programme was organised in the academy. Programme was started by reciting a gurbani hymn. Students of the kindergarten section sang and performed on patriotic poems.
Different houses displayed the acts based upon the history of India starting right from coming of the British till the gain of freedom and different achievements made by India after independence like Green Revolution, space missions and globalization.
Students of primary and upper primary classes showcased their talent by reciting patriotic songs. Headmistress Ms. Prabhjot Kaur addressed the students and congratulated them. She motivated the students to work for the development of the nation.
The investiture ceremony was also conducted. Selected students were decorated with the badges by the Headmistress. Programme was ended with the recitation of the National Anthem by all. Biscuits were distributed among the students.
