The online awareness event to commemorate the “International Day Against Drug Abuse” and illicit trafficking was organised in Akal Academy Balbehra in collaboration with Akal Academy Drug De- addiction centres and Akal College of Health and Allied Sciences, Eternal university, Baru Sahib on 30th July 2025.
The event was started with the featuring of short film “Chup 2” depicting how youth fall into the trap of drug addiction risking the destruction of their lives and potential.
Then there was a panel discussion with distinguished mental health professionals focussing on the psychological impact of drug addiction, prevention and recovery.
The documentary film based on the real life story of Jarnail Singh highlighting his journey of drug addiction and recovery emphasizing the importance of awareness, prevention and education was screened.
At the end of the session all students and teachers have pledged to commit a drug free and healthy lifestyle.
