Baisakhi in Divine Spirit: A Solemn Celebration at Akal Academy, Fatehgarh

Akal Academy, Fatehgarh Chhanna, under the guidance of The Kalgidhar Trust,
celebrated Baisakhi in a deeply religious and reverent manneron april13,2026 The day
unfolded as a harmonious blend of devotion, learning, and cultural pride, reinforcing the
Sikh values of faith, humility, and service.
The programme commenced with two bhog of 2 Sehjpaths of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji,
creating a serene and meditative ambience. Students and teachers sat attentively as
Gurbani was read in a continuous flow, culminating in Ardas and Bhog. Karah Prasad
was then distributed to all, symbolising equality, grace, and community.
The event featured soulful recitations of Shabads and Vaaran, reflecting the glory of the
Sikh Gurus and the sanctity of Baisakhi. Students and teachers presented Punjabi and
English speeches, emphasising the spiritual and historical significance of the day, while
the Principal delivered an inspirational address, connecting the values of
Baisakhi—discipline, courage, and service—to student life.
A highlight of the celebration was the Dastar Bandi competition for Classes VI–XII,
honouring the dignity of the Sikh turban. Participants were guided to tie the Dastar with
respect and pride, and winners received certificates, reinforcing their connection to Sikh
identity. Winners of the competition are as follows .
GROUP 1 (Grade VI to VIII)

2 nd -Mansimrat Singh (Amul House)
3 rd – Jashandeep Singh(Atul House) and Arunpreet Singh ( Ajay House)
GROUP 2 (IX to XII)
Ist-Gurfateh Singh (Amul House) and Sehajdeep Singh(Ajay House)
2 nd -Yuvraj Singh (Ajay House)
3 rd – Karamjeet Singh (Abhay House )
Overall, the celebration nurtured faith, strengthened character, and epitomised the
value‑based mission of Akal Academy and The Kalgidhar Trust.
