First Aid Training Programme for staff members

Children spend most of their time in schools and are vulnerable to injuries and mild ailments, hence they require first-aid care. School teachers can easily provide immediate first-aid care in the absence of any health professional. Owing to this, Mrs. Meera Verma, the Principal, Akal Academy Balbehra took an initiative to guide the members of staff with first aid training. For this, volunteers have been selected to play different roles to guide and provide knowledge about first aid not only to the members of staff but also to the caretakers. Ms. Ramnik Kaur walia, Ms. Pushpinder Kaur, Ms. Ritu Sindhi, Ms. Irmaljeet Kaur and many more teachers have been involved in practicing and providing guidance program.

In this program, initially, first aid tips were explained by a volunteer teacher with the help of a chart and she demonstrated several first aid activities. For instance, how to apply bandage and which type of bandage is required in case of minor cuts. Similarly, demonstrations have been given in different threatening situations such as burns and snake bites. In this one day training program teachers were able to understand the importance of first aid:- *How to maintain first aid box not only at home but also in the workplaces. *How to give first aid in case of any emergency. A token of appreciation has been given to all the volunteers at the end of the day.
